(Redirected from Kazuya/Resources)

This page is Kazuya's "Resource Dump" page. This page is to be used to indiscriminately store just about any pieces of gameplay information that anyone may have that exists about this character. This serves to make a catalog of preserved content that can (and probably should) be fully realized and transcribed onto main character pages if any editors see it to be of use.

For simplicity's sake; anything you would want pinned in your character channel or character Discord can go here, such as:

  • Character Discord pins
  • Links or transcriptions of external personal documents and / or Dragdown User Docs
  • Tech videos, especially from Twitter hashtags
  • One-off or niche combo routes
  • Set-ups (for pressure, mix-ups, or setplay)
  • Video analyses of matches and sets

If more opinionated works are posted, such as match-up charts, it is highly recommended that you include accreditation to the creator and any other important specifics (such as ordering or et cetera), so that readers can evaluate the sourcing. To readers, also note that this means you should consume at your own discretion. Not all strategy or reasoning may be fully explained, tested, or viable, so either be sure to ask the creators any questions (if possible), or do your own research in training mode.

Players To Watch

This section is not an endorsement of players as a people. This is a tool to help find videos to learn matchups, combos, and general play techniques. For guidelines and best practices, visit the Template Doc
Color Name Region Sample Footage Things to Watch For
Riddles Toronto, Canada The best Kazuya and Terry player in the world.
Ferps Brazil Ferps plays very technical. When he gets a hit he will try his very best to take a stock off that hit.
Tea Japan Tea plays Pac-Man and Kazuya. He plays Kazuya with a high risk, high reward playstyle.
Nito SoCal USA Nito plays Shotos and Kazuya. He plays Kazuya on Smashbox.

Box Kazuya

Information related to Kazuya played on any arcade style controller will be included here.

Sids made a site that explains what each button does and how to do inputs on Smashbox for Kazuya:

This link goes to the Hitbox Arcade discord:

This link goes to the Smashbox Kazuya thread in the hitbox Arcade discord. You will need to have already joined the discord for the link to work:

If you have any questions, ask them there.

Anything with a profile layout file will instead have a discord link to download that file. Once again, you will need to have joined the discord for the links to work.

Normal SOCD Smashbox Layout

From NitoSSB:

"I'm thinking this might be my final layout. I'm comfortable with the down tilt position. My "Home row button" are Left hand pinky TILT 2 ring finger A-Lf Middle finger A-dn and is used for A-up as well And my pointing finger is A-rt my thumb resting on L(shield) and reaches the x sticks nearby it.

Right hand goes as follows Pointer finger - A Middle finger - Tilt 3 Ring finger - Mode Pinky -Tilt with my thumb resting on the extra Tilt 3(on the bottom) and it reaches comfortably for C stick down or C stick right. (All of my fingers, not my thumb just reach up it's easy for me) I rarely ever use Y, or R. I only use LSDPad for taunt training mode mod access thing. X is jump. Z is grab Tilt 1 and 2 are different levels of tilt/walk speed modifiers. The only thing I change in game with my tag is TILT stick on instead of smash stick. (and high sensitivity I guess but I don't think it matters and rumble off but the smashbox has no rumble lmao)

The reason for Tilt 3 for my thumb is specifically for crouch dash cancelling timing, it's much easier for me personally to do mode with my ring finger and tilt 3 with my thumb compared to Mode (ring finger) and Tilt 3 (Middle) it could be just a me thing if you use my profile change it to w/e is comfortable for you this wont be perfect for everybody it just works for me.

If you have the smashbox designer app just import profiles on the button remapping and on the profile 1 values (Or whichever profile you want to replace mine with)

Again it's mainly a comfort thing and this has worked for me in my months of playing Kazuya and I don't think I'll change it anytime soon. If you want results behind my layout I've won a couple of local tournaments and I'm ranked 5th or 7th in socal IDR(#1 in the inland empire) and beaten multiple PR players including all of the top 5 SoCal PR players and got like 65th at genesis or something out of 2k+?? If you have any questions feel free to ask here or in general chat or DM me

But here they are hope they help you need both of these files if you want my layout."

To crouch dash you hold forward then press MODE (OLD) which will force down then press TILT3 which will force neutral. Then you can repeat for repeated crouch dashes. Holding TILT1 or TILT2 changes the speed you can CDC. To EWGF just press A at the same time as TILT3.

2nd Input Priority SOCD Layout

By Hushpuppy:

Doing CD and EWGF are the same as above. There are a few differences in other tech like CDC-DB where with 2IP (2nd Input Priority) you don't have to release forward you can just press DB so that you will be pressing Back, Down, and Forward buttons at the same time.

Kazuya on Cross|Up
