Stages
Orcane, overall, does fairly well on the majority of stages. Depending on the kind of playstyle you prefer, you'll find you enjoy stages that maybe other Orcanes dislike. There are, however, a couple of stages that are unfavorable for Orcane.
These stages are favorable to Orcane in some way shape or form.
The homefield advantage is real with Orcane. Merchant Port offers Orcane a large stage layout, allowing him to safely set-up puddles, with plats that typically stay out of the way or are placed in such a way that Orcane can cover multiple recovery options. One of Orcane's best starters.
Fire Capital continues the trend of giving Orcane a large stage layout to work with. This allows Orcane to safely place puddle to mix up his recovery and the top plats are just high enough to where a well placed Up Strong will connect.
These stages hinder Orcane in some way. These are mostly agreed upon by other Orcane players as being poor. These are not insta-bans, just ones you should consider if your opponent may be favored on them.
Hyperborean Harbor is largely disliked by a majority of players due to the ability to shark and the walls being so tight to the stage. Most players will not take you to here. However, the reason this stage is one to be avoided by Orcane is due to his recovery. With the walls pulled closer in, your mix-ups when recovering low are greatly weakened. It is by no means an insta-ban, as Orcane can abuse the layout with puddle placements, but it can be a bit of an uphill battle.
Tempest Peak is one of the more unfavorable stages for Orcane, especially if you're fighting a character who can easily out range or out pace you. Some Orcanes do like this stage, as the small size makes playing aggressive more rewarded, though that may not be the case for you. This is one you should consider an insta-ban should it not match your playstyle and especially if you're playing against a character who can beat you out through range or speed.
